The History of language encompasses a very straight forward aesthetic, an image of a piece of burning piece of paper, two experimental sound tracks and a voice over by well-known linguist Noam Chomsky. The film is about the dangerous proposition of humanity losing its ability to use language. Chomsky’s voice over tells us of this uniquely human attribute. Thus, it will be tragic if we are on a path - due to computers and electronic technology - of losing language. As the film states at the end, computers do not need language to work.
