Don’t You Remember was the film that marked the moment I first discovered the magic of cinema. The film explores how images and sound can be used artistically and how images can encompass a number of different meanings depending on their context. I also realized that making a personal film can be a process of self-discovery, exploring a dimension of oneself not previously recognized. A personal film can delve into the concept of spirituality and other unconscious aspects of life and death. Aesthetically, the film incorporates a combination of live action and scanned photographs, something which I continued to implement throughout my filmmaking career. The City of Toronto recognized the film in the best student film category.
